On August 3rd, the Reading Phillies will give away a Ryan Howard lawn gnome to the first 2,500 fans. Well, I’m all for gnomes (more on that in a second), but this one is creepy at best, racist at worst.

PHILADELPHIA – A police officer used a Taser gun to apprehend a fan who ran onto the field during a Phillies game Monday night, and the team and the police are investigating whether it was an appropriate use of force.

Ryan Howard Signs $125 Million Extension

According to ESPN.com – “Ryan Howard will remain in a Philadelphia Phillies uniform through the 2016 season after agreeing to a five-year extension worth an average of $25 million per year.
The slugging first baseman has agreed to a five-year, $125 million extension that will kick in starting with the 2012 season.
Howard, at 30 years old,, has 225 career home runs in 750 games.”
That equates to so many more Affliction/Ed Hardy T-shirts and “sessions” with Snoop Dog for the big guy.
