Stumbled! I think this should be renamed 50 Things that Make Us Smile. =D Good work.
*50 things that remind you of YOUR childhood.
As someone who spent most my childhood in Europe and Asia I have a hard time relating to most of this crap.
Also, you’re using this free wordpress template without giving credit to the developers who spent weeks perfecting this. If it wasn’t for people like you we wouldn’t need to copyright shit in this world.
I’m sorry that kids in Europe and Asia didn’t have the fun toys we had in America.
The developers are now credited, please bitch on someone else’s blog.
I don’t know which part of Europe the moaner you replied to lived in, but in the UK we had most of this stuff. We had all the cartoons and computer games, I think all we didn’t get were some of the cereals and non-cartoon TV shows (though we did have Alf).
Hater, cool article – I grew up in new zealand and I was still able to relate to 90% of the stuff, goes to show the American culture exported to other countries in full effect!
seriously, you need to flip your bitch switch off. obviously this is familiar to others than yourself.
and perez, awesome compilation. you have illustrated the material substance of my childhood wonderfully.
your a douche. calm your shit, get a life, get laid and stop bitching
about 1 month ago
OK look, even though these things are probably more specific to the American market, does not mean you have to whine and moan about it. I’m sorry you did not have the same type of upbringing that the person that made this did, but no one has the same life, thats what makes the world so different. I remember most of these things from my early childhood but there are things not on here that were intergal to my formative years. This was made to pay homage to the great childhood memories that these products made for kids. I’m sorry you have to be so rude and condescending just because someone decided to share a little bit of their life on here.
I was born and raised in Europe and most of this things made me smile. I can recall a lot of them!
I grew up in Malaysia and I’ve definitely seen at least half or most of it.
WHERE DID YOUR CHILDHOOD GO?
Ha Ha you did not get to have as much fun as American kids. Maybe thats why you are so bitter?
wheres the LEGO? That should remind anybody born in the last 30 years of childhood.
Also, transformers!

Bunch of stolen pics, well done. What a f*****g waste of time.
Looks like Santa missed this guy’s house when he was a kid. Lighten up you Grinch
about 1 month ago
Stolen comment.. Saw it on another pic site not long ago.. What a waste of time.
I love how people waste even more time by letting everyone know their time was wasted
about 1 month ago
If it wasn’t for stolen pics and stolen software there wouldn’t be much on the internet.
Early Sesame Street, Flintstones, Hula hoops….the list could go on for another 1000 items. LOL
Waste of time is looking at them all and then commenting on the obvious.
Only 50, the list could have been 1000’s but well done.
To the complainers, without stolen pics (and software) 1/2 the computers wouldn’t be running and most of the internet would be missing.
As for a waste of time, the only time wasted is by the person that goes through them all and then states what is obvious. You are right, that is a waste of your time, bandwidth, space…did you not have any memories of a fun childhood?
I LOVED this walk down memory lane! You should add snap bracelets…ouch! Also, smurfs (of, course) and choose your own adventure books. Oh-and the cartoon Dungeons and Dragons, where they almost made it back home every time, but never did..
Where is “Oregon Trail”
and Paper Boy
And Carmen Sandiego!
also great pic compilation. I had to pause on each one and sigh, miss it all so much! LOL

What was the deal with cartoon ducks in the ’80s? In addition to “Duck Tails” and “Darkwing Duck”, anyone remember “Count Duckula”?
Don’t forget “Howard the Duck”
Thanks for making the list, I loved it!! I didnt get a few of them but still, knowing that I’m probably not the only person who remembered the Darkwing Duck song when they saw that pic is priceless lol. And I was seriously wondering if I was the only one who read a ton of R L Stine books when I was little haha. Oh and I LOVE that you have “Where the Sidewalk Ends” on here too, cause that was one of my favorite books, along with the other ones by the same author.
Thanks
I never read the R L Stine books, i just collected them
about 1 month ago
Yup, I did the same! I had the entire Goosebumps collection, and I think I read three of them.

Man that McDonald’s playground really brings back memories. I also remember a large purple guy as well. lol video games and Nickelodeon were the staple of my childhood – anyone for Nick arcade? What about Ghost writer? As for toys I remember all of these. I remember losing all of my brothers army ants and he got incredibly pissed.
Grimmace lol, the large purple guy was Grimmace!
this was a great stumble list
Every time I see a Magic Slate in a grocery store I always draw a penis on it. But where are G.I. Joes ,LEGO’S and Lincoln Logs. All though my childhood I played with those toys.
You can go to the store and still buy G.I. Joes, LEGO and Lincoln Logs right now. The best nostalgia stuff are things that were new, became very popular, then dissapeared within a few years; ensuring that they are distinctly tied to a specific generation of kids.
I’m making a 3rd installment to the list. Send me ideas at info@perezsolomon.com. You seem to know what you’re talking about
about 1 month ago
I love this. Most of these were right on the money for me. It was a nice trip down memory lane.
Thanks for this!:D
I feel like I just walked in my house as a 7 year old. That was my first and favorite goosebumps book. RANDOMNESS: This all reminds me of the day my brother and I got into a fight because he put my pizza hut skipper into a bon fire so I put his He-man ‘doll’ in the fire. He chased me and I had a terrible huffy accident. We played a game of country twister on a TMNT character block quilt later that evening. ahh childhood in the 90s!
I just crapped myself laughing at “He chased me and I had a terrible huffy accident”. What was that other brand that it competed with but was like second best? I think it started with an “M”.
Magna I think.
this is great.
just last week my mom sent me some stuff she had saved from my childhood. it included the fisher price garage. my son, who is 22 months, loves playing with it.
it makes me very happy to think that he and i will have some of the same childhood memories having shared this toy.

I’m 18 and I relate to more than half. My mind is blown.
Great list it brought back a lot of memories. I still have a Mattel football game. I might also have a Simon. You definitely need to do another list. You must include Speed Racer.

For me it was The Three Stooges, and “Clutch Cargo.” Gilligan’s Island was in the future, and we only had three TV channels. I’m in a slightly different age group, I think…
about 1 month ago
Anyone remember “Video Power”?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0165600/
Man those Fisher Price toys were awesome. If you were born around late 70’s and early 80’s chances are you should know this stuff
about 1 month ago
Alas, all these things remind me of my children’s childhood. Most of them did not exist during mine. Shit I’m old!

I cant imagine a softdrink brand named after “Squirt” nowadays!!! What would the brand tagline read like?
“SQUIRT, just cum an’ drink!”
ROTFLMAO!!!
DDD
Actually, they still sell “Squirt”, it’s owned by Dr. Pepper. I think I’ve even bought one or two in the last year. But now, after your comment, I’ll never be able to drink it again…thanks.
I used to have a “Green Machine”. I remember the movie “Free to be You and Me”. Go-Bots! Jabber-Jaws, the Laff-Olympics and the Hall of Injustice!

What movie was number 1 again? I remember watching bits of it when I was 9–we were on vacation on the beach, and it was raining, and this was on. I didn’t understand it, and I think it kinda freaked me out.
